Patriots come out flat vs PSUGA

(McKeesport, PA)- The SSCC Women basketball team traveld to Penn State Greater Allegheny this past Saturday and lost 83-75.  Send the teams record to 2-12 for the season.

It was another case of starting slow, having to climb back and take the lead in the 2nd quarter.  Then consistency reared its ugly head.

After getting down 19-9 after the 1st quarter, the Patriots would end up winning the last 3 quarters, but could not overcome the slow start.

"We played well in at times, but we have let downs in every quarter that haunts us." Coach Wells said.  For the game the Patriots would shoot 46% from the field, 41% from 3pt land and 63% from the free throw line.

What did in the patriots were rebounding losing that battle 56-42, 2nd chance points 16-9 and lost at the free throw line 26 to 14.

There are times in almost every game we look so good, but we lack the consistency to maintain it.  We will go away from what we had been doing well for that game and it costs us everytime. This is a good game for us, but one we could have shown a better fight.

The Patriots were lead by Sarah Rosselott(Lynchburg) with 24 points.  Sarah just dominated the paint area in this game.  Natasha Barr(West Union) had 17, while Morgan Fittro(Lynchburg) had 10 points.

The team will travel to Elizabeth City, North Carolina on January 22 and 23 for comepte against Mid-Atlantic Christian and Florida College.

Next home game is January 27, Wednesday vs MU-Middletown at 5:00pm
