Patriots 3rd Quarter spells doom.

Patriots 3rd Quarter spells doom.

(Grayson, KY) - The SSCC Women's Team traveled to Kentucky Christian to participate in the KCU Classic on Friday and Saturday.

The Patriots would take on the host KCU Lady Knights on friday and it was lights out for the Patriots.

With an eight point lead coming out of half-time, the Lady Knights used an amazing 24-1 third quarter to put the game out of reach. KCU only shot .388 from the field for the game but forced the Patriots into 26 turnovers while stuffing the stat sheet with 18 steals. Those gaudy numbers plus a 54 to 33 rebounding edge allowed the Red/Black to almost double SSCC in shots (85 to 43).

It was a close game for 3 of the quarters, but our inconsistency caught up with us during the 3rd and it was over after that.

Megan Sword(Fairfield-Leesburg) led in scoring with 17 points and Natasha Barr(West Union) had 13.
